L’attuale Corso Castel San Giorgio anticamente segnava il confine tra il borgo e il mare. Qui, dove oggi si cammina tra palazzi storici, il mare Adriatico si spingeva fino alle mura cittadine, e proprio in questo punto si trovavano tre grandi archi a sesto acuto, approdo naturale per le imbarcazioni che animavano il porto.

The present-day "Corso Castel San Giorgio" once marked the boundary between the village and the sea. Here, where people now walk among historic buildings, the Adriatic Sea used to reach all the way to the city walls, and right at this spot stood three large pointed arches, a natural landing place for the boats that brought life to the port.
Rocca Tiepolo
Costruita nel 1267 da Lorenzo Tiepolo, futuro Doge di Venezia, Rocca Tiepolo è il simbolo della difesa medievale di Porto San Giorgio. Sorge su un promontorio con vista sul mare e si presenta con una pianta pentagonale, torri angolari, merli guelfi e un alto mastio centrale. Era il cuore del sistema difensivo del porto, con mura che un tempo arrivavano fino al mare e tre archi a sesto acuto per l’attracco delle imbarcazioni. Nel tempo è stata cimitero, ipotetica casa di pena e oggi è uno degli spazi culturali più suggestivi della città. Offre un panorama spettacolare sul mare ed è sede di eventi, spettacoli e iniziative estive.

Built in 1267 by Lorenzo Tiepolo, future Doge of Venice, Rocca Tiepolo stands as a symbol of medieval defense in Porto San Giorgio. Perched on a promontory overlooking the sea, it features a pentagonal layout, corner towers, Guelph-style battlements, and a tall central keep. It was once the heart of the port’s defensive system, with walls that stretched to the shoreline and three pointed arches that served as docking points for incoming vessels. Over the centuries, it has served as a cemetery, a possible prison, and today it ranks among the city’s most evocative cultural spaces. It offers a spectacular view of the sea and hosts events, performances, and summer initiatives.
Teatro Comunale "Vittorio Emanuele II"
Il Teatro Comunale Vittorio Emanuele II è uno dei più antichi e prestigiosi teatri delle Marche. Voluto nel 1809 dai cittadini di Porto San Giorgio, venne costruito tra il 1811 e il 1816 su progetto dell'architetto Giuseppe Locatelli.

The municipal theatre, named after Vittorio Emanuele II, is one of the oldest and most prestigious theatres in the Marche region. It was commissioned in 1809 by the citizens of Porto San Giorgio and built between 1811 and 1816, based on a design by architect Giuseppe Locatelli.
