Camminamenti Militari

Realizzati presumibilmente nel XV sec., seguono il perimetro murario medievale oggi della sola cinta muraria meridionale. Coperti e in laterizio, noti come “vie di ronda” o “via dei ponti”, furono integrati nelle case del borgo nel XVI secolo. Rappresentano un elemento di interesse tra architettura e storia difensiva.

Built presumably in the 15th century, they follow the medieval wall perimeter, today of the southern wall only. Covered and made of brick, known as "patrol streets" or"bridge streets", they were integrated into the houses of the village in the 16th century. They represent an element of interest between architecture and defensive history.

Castello di Rocca Montevarmine

Castello medievale edificato fra il Fiume Aso e il Torrente Menocchia, risalente al IX sec. Fu feudo longobardo, fattoria fortificata, infine bene produttivo di un’opera di carità religiosa con tre chiese nel suo latifondo di quasi 700 ettari. Presenta merli ghibellini, torri e all’interno delle mura la chiesa di San Pietro.

Medieval Castle built between the Aso River and the Menocchia Creek, dating back the 9th century. It was a Longobard fief, a fortified farm and finally, a productive asset of a religious charity with three churches in its nearby 700 hectare estate. It features ghibelline battlements, towers and within the walls the St.Peter Church.

Chiesa di San Lorenzo Martire

Costruita in laterizio sulla sommità del Castello Vecchio, nel punto più alto del paese, documentata dal 1419, ha una navata unica con tre altari e un campanile rinascimentale dove è collocato il “campanone” recentemente rifuso. È un luogo simbolico, testimonianza della fede e dell’architettura religiosa tardo medievale.

Built of brick on top of the Old Castle, at the highest point of the village, documented since 1419, it has a single nave with three altars and a Renaissance bell tower where the recently recast "big bell" is located. It is a symbolic place, a testimony to faith and late Medieval religious architecture.

Chiesa di Sant'Angelo in Piano

Sorge in prossimità del Fiume Aso, è documentata dal 957. Un tempo monastero benedettino, fu poi anche ospedale. Presenta una facciata in pietra con portale ogivale e abside romanica. Nei pressi i resti di una fornace piceno-romana. Antica meta di pellegrinaggi e fiere.

Rises near the Aso River, it has documented since 957. Once a Benedictine Monastery, it was later also the hospital. It has a stone façade with an ogival portal and Romanesque apse. Nearby are the remains of a Piceno-Roman furnace. Ancient destination for pilgrimages and fairs.

Chiesa di Santa Maria del Buon Gesù

La chiesa fu edificata nel 1532 su un preesistente oratorio del 1470, grazie all’impulso della Compagnia del Buon Gesù, ispirata alla Basilica di Loreto, con pianta a tre navate, custodisce opere di Pagani, Boscoli e Ripanelli. Conserva fonte battesimale, altari barocchi, un organo del XVIII sec., oltre alla scultura lignea policroma di Santa Maria del Buon Gesù, sec. XV-XVI.

The Church was built in 1532 on a pre-existing oratory from 1470, thanks to the impulse of the Confraternity of the Good Jesus, inspired by the Basilica of Loreto, with a three-aisle plan, it holdsworks by Pagani, Boscoli and Ripanelli. It preserves a baptismal font, Baroque altars, an 18th century organ as well as the polychrome wooden sculpture of St.Mary of the Good Jesus, 15th - 16th centuries.

Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie

Piccola chiesa rurale costruita nel 1850 grazie alle donazioni dei fedeli, nota come “La Madonnetta”, presenta un campanile a vela e una loggia aggiunta nel 1872-73. All’interno si trova una tela ottocentesca della Beata Vergine delle Grazie di autore ignoto e numerosi ex-voto.

Small rural Church built in 1850, thanks to the donations of the faithful, known as "La Madonetta", has a bell gable and a loggia added in 1872-1873. Inside is a 19th century painting of the Blessed Virgin of Grace by an unknown author and numerous votive offerings.

Chiesa di Santa Monica

Edificata nella seconda metà del XVII sec., la chiesa custodisce una preziosa pinacoteca, con dipinti di Gioacchino Antonelli e una statua lignea di Santa Monica. Restaurata nel 2003, presenta una facciata sobria in laterizio e un altare in stucco. Curiosa la stella a sei punte sulla facciata.

Built in the second half of the 17th century, the Church houses a valuable picture gallery with paintings by Gioacchino Antonelli and a wooden statue of St. Monica. Restored in 2003, it has a solver brick façade and a stucco altar. The six-pointed star on the façade is curious.

Giardini Pubblici

Già noti come "il Prato" e poi “Parco della Rimembranza”, fino a metà XIX sec. erano un piccolo colle successivamente spianato, a forma di ferro di cavallo, le loro quattro vie d'accesso s’incrociano al centro, dove è posizionata una vasca circolare con fontana. Oggi rappresentano un'area verde comunale e uno spazio di uso pubblico.

Formerly known as the "Lawn" and later "Remembrance Park" until the mid-19th century, they were a small hill later flattened, horseshoe-shaped, their four access roads intersect at the center, where a circular basin with fountain is located. Today, they represent a municipal green area and public use space.

Lavatoio Pubblico Comunale

Costruito nel 1901, è un simbolo della vita quotidiana del borgo fino ai primi anni ‘70. Con lavabi in travertino e copertura decorata, era luogo di lavoro e socializzazione per le donne del paese. Restaurato nel 2015, rappresenta un "luogo della memoria" caro alla comunità, testimonianza delle tradizioni locali.

Built in 1901, it was a symbol of daily life in the village until the early 1970s. With travertine wash basins and an ornate roof, it was a place of work and socialization for the women of the village. Restored in 2005, it represents a "place of memory" cherished by the community, a testimony to local traditions.

Museo Civico Archeologico-Antiquarium Comunale “Bianca Virgili”

Collocato dal 2008 al primo piano del Palazzo Comunale, l’Antiquarium raccoglie reperti locali dall’età del Paleolitico al Medioevo: monete, epigrafi romane, una statuina Ushapti egizia. Espone fotografie storiche, oggetti da Rocca Monte Varmine e aree vicine, testimonianze della civiltà picena e romana.

Located since 2008 on the second floor of the Municipal Palace, The Antiquarium collects local artifacts from the Paleolithic Age to the Middle Ages: coins, Roman epigraphs an Egyptian Ushapti statuette. It exhibits historial photographs, objects from Rocca Montevarmine and nearby areas, and evidence of Picene and Roman civilization.
